Dean Motter, artist/writer and designer, will be paying Savannah a visit for GnomeCon 2015. Last year, he commemorated the 30th anniversary of his creation, Mister X, with the mini-series, Razed Expectations, an Xmas Special, a poster book, and new T-shirts. In recent years he has created work for Batman: Black and White, Wolverine, The Shadow, The Spirit, and the award-winning ‘film-noir’ graphic novel Batman: Nine Lives. His acclaimed Terminal City mini-series was nominated for both Eisner and Kurtzman Awards and he is known for his graphic novel The Prisoner: Shattered Visage, based on the ‘60s British TV series. Dean recently completed The Book Hitler Didn’t Want You To Read for the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust.
In the 1990s Dean served on staff at both DC Comics and Byron Preiss Visual Publications as art director, supervising licensed characters and designing graphic novel projects such as The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy as well as the works of Ray Bradbury and Raymond Chandler. Dean has also provided editorial content and publication design on several books for Vanguard including The Definitive Frazetta Reference and books on Frank Brunner, Michael Kaluta, Alex Schomberg, and Wally Wood.
